The CAPITAL Project Trust

The CAPITAL Project Trust was founded in 1997 as a charity promoting peer support and mental health service-user involvement. It works to promote equality and respect for people with mental health problems, challenging the prejudice and stigma they experience wherever it arises.

We are a unique service-user led organisation working to empower people in West Sussex with experience of mental distress to have a voice in how mental health services can be improved.

  • Have you experienced mental distress?
  • Do you work in the Mental Health Sector?
  • Do you run courses addressing mental health issues?
  • Do you have an interest in mental health, recovery and wellbeing?

CAPITAL members work as experts by experience, becoming involved in training, research, evaluation and consultation. We offer bespoke training to mental health professionals, service-users and other members of the community as well as contributing to mental health modules taught at local universities and colleges.

The CAPITAL Project Trust challenges discrimination and promotes wider understanding of mental illness and mental health recovery in the community.
